Bookbinding Courses
with Paul C Delrue
Whether you are relatively new to bookbinding and are interested in learning more about how to put a book together or make simple repairs, or you already have some experience and skill in the craft and want to develop specific areas of expertise, talk to Paul Delrue to see if one of his informal and flexible courses can help. Limited to a maximum of two or three people, tuition is very focused and at your own level. Participants are encouraged to bring along their own projects to work on during the course, or just for advice so they can work on them at home.
There is often a demand for simple book repair courses from booksellers who would like to have a go at straightforward repairs to selected books in their stock to make them more saleable or increase profit margins a little. Paul can offer a course specifically suited to this need, again tailored to the level of the participants.
Based at Paul's bindery in North Wales, programme lengths can vary but usually cover a four or five day period. Prices for this type of programme start at just £450 per person, including all materials. Help and advice on locating local B&B or hotel accommodation in or around Ruthin is also available on request.
Course outlines vary depending on student needs but the following are typical examples:
